Harvard Business School Applicants Automatically Rejected for Checking Early

So it looks like those 100+ Harvard Business School applicants who figured out how to look at their application status early have all gotten their applications automatically denied.

Did people really think that they could do this undetected? However lax security is on an Internet site is, exploiting it, whether or not you are the first one to do so, almost always will get you in trouble if you get caught. Does this surprise you? Just because someone's house is unlocked, that doesn't mean you are allowed to rifle through their personal effects without punishment.

Of course the problem is that analogies to the real world don't always fly in the online one.
